Support for the Imams who adhere to the Sunnah
It is imperative upon all of those who take their Islamic way of life seriously to become involved in reviving this sunnah...the sunnah of going out to sight the moon in order to determine the beginnings and endings of our months. Along with this, we must also revive the sunnah of knowing the beginning and endings of our salah (prayer) times. Many of us cannot pray on time without the use of a prayer schedule. This is a sad state of affairs! For many Muslims, the practice of the five pillars is dependent upon technology. The reason for this confusion is sheer laziness!
*The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The Mercy of Allah is with my Khalifahs." It was said, "Who are your Khalifahs?" He said, "Those who bring my sunnah to life and teach it to the people (an-naas). Whoever gives life to my sunnah, has given life to me. Whoever gives life to me, will be with me in paradise (jannah)."
This should be sufficient encouragement for the believer to actively embark upon this activity of revival (tajdeed). This would replace confusion with a sense of certainty during these blessed months.
